Loving With Your Heart or Mind?

How do you love someone?  Do you follow the famous line which says, "I love you with all of my heart"? Or would you rather have someone tell you "I love you with all of my mind"?

When we initially  fall in love with someone, it is more "feelings based".  So we rely more on what our heart feels rather than on what our mind dictates.  The best part about loving and being in a relationship is usually during the early part.  It is during this phase where you only see the good side of the relationship.  It is also during these times that you both find out things you both like to do together, traits that you appreciate in each other, which would eventually help you both establish a bond that would help strengthen the relationship.

But the real challenge begins when you both discover more about each other.  When you find out things you never knew existed.  When you are both faced with difficult situations that test how you feel towards each other.  Most of the time, these situations may not only test your relationship, but your character as well.  I guess it is during these times when we would rather have our mind work over our heart.

The heart who has experienced pain may not know what is right from wrong.  All it knows is that it is hurting and may not be able to make a rational decision.  The heart who has been given too much attention by another may eventually give in and forget that he already belongs to someone else. And the heart who is madly in love gives more than what is needed in a relationship leaving her with nothing for herself.  Oftentimes we do something based on how we feel, not realizing that we end up hurting others, or worse hurting ourselves in the end.

Our feelings falter from time to time, so when we love someone, we must commit not just our hearts but more importantly our minds into the relationship.  When we always keep in mind why we love someone, we learn to look beyond the hurt, the anger and the imperfections.

So when you love someone, love not just with your heart, but keep your mind in the equation as well.  This might help keep a lasting relationship or it just might save you from being in the wrong one.

Just Smile :)

A good friend of mine who also happens to be a  blogger is working on a project for her blog.  She asked me to send in a photo and write about what feature I find beautiful in myself.

That got me thinking for a while, because I never really get to be asked that kind of question.  But without hesitations I sent in my contribution for the article together with a photo that my friend took herself.

SMILE.  That is what I consider to be my best feature.  As I have written in the e-mail I sent my friend, a smile can do wonders.  It can bring comfort and can brighten up the gloomiest of days.

Smiling has gotten me through some tough and difficult situations.  I smile even when I am hurting because I don't want the people around me to feel the pain I am going through.  I smile when I am nervous because it helps calm my nerves.

A smile is a simple act but can be difficult to give away for some. A quote I read says, "A warm smile is the universal language of kindness".  So try to smile more often and share the gift of love and kindness towards others.

Life can be pretty rough sometimes, but it is not an excuse for us to go around wearing a frown on our face.  Go through life with a smile, and you would realize that things are not that bad after all.

Keep on smiling and make life beautiful :)

My 30 Days Blog Challenge

Two days from now I would be starting my 30 Days Blog Challenge.

The goal is to be able to write a blog everyday for the next 30 days.  But I am having doubts if I can do  the "writing everyday" thing, so I may need to take baby steps and for now make sure that at least I get to post a blog entry every other day and complete the items on the list.

I would be sharing my thoughts or views on certain topics, talk about some of my favorite stuff, answer questions or post some photos and tell the story behind it.

I hope that this challenge would help me improve as a blogger, because sometimes I tend to run out of things to write about or I get caught up in so many things that I miss out on posting on my blog for days or even weeks at the most.

So let's see how it goes...

The Blessing I Call Friends...

Life can be very unpredictable.  You will find moments when life is fun and exciting, but at one point it can change and things can be scary and stressful.  But with all these ups and downs we encounter,  we can always count on Friends to help us get through the complexities of life.

You will always find a friend to share memorable events in your life... going out on your first date, going through your first heart break, or getting in trouble for some foolish pranks you may have done.   Friends add that special magic in our lives.  They help us see the good even in a seemingly hopeless situation.  They are our strength when we are at the verge of breaking down.  They bring laughter just when you thought you would never find yourself smiling again.  Friends give you the courage to face difficult situations knowing that you are in it together.  I must admit, I could never imagine a life without them.

For the past 34 years of my existence, I have met so many friends, from all walks of life.  I am grateful because I know that they have helped me become the person I want or even the person I don't want to be.  Some friends may drift away, but there are those that  would always be in your life, despite time and distance.  The friends I have, and the friends that I have yet to meet, are one of life's greatest blessings.  I always thank God for them...

To all my friends, thank you for the happiness you have brought into my life.  I hope that I had been the friend you wanted me to be.  Let us continue to spread the joy and be good friends. ♥

Instagram Friday

It seemed like a really long week and I am just relieved that the weekend has finally arrived.  I had been doing a lot of thinking  over the past few days, and I am hoping and praying to find the answer to all the questions running around my head.  For some reason, I think the answer has always been there, it's a matter of probably taking that leap.

For now, I don't really want to over think things, I am just looking forward to enjoying the weekend with my family.  I guess after a long week of hard work, we all deserve that.

Happy weekend guys, and to stick to my theme of InstaFriday inspired by another blogger,  I just wanted to share some photos I shared on Instagram. ♥

Three Special Pens
Sticky notes
Pringles, once you pop you can't stop.
My son calls these "rock candies"

Enjoy the weekend everyone, and don't forget, If you really want something, and if you have a solid grip on what you want, you’ll climb walls, move mountains, cross rivers, swim oceans—just to get what you really want.  Happy Weekend!

The Promise of A Sunrise

I guess one of the perks of working during the night shift is that I get to witness how the sun comes up every morning.  How the sky would slowly welcome the suns shining rays and bring in a brand new day.

I love the sunrise.  For me it is a promise of hope, of new beginnings, of second chances.  It is God's way of telling us to give life another try, an opportunity for us to correct our mistakes and move on to something better.

Each new day is a miracle in itself.  So face every sunrise with a hope that no matter what happens, life is good and that you should live it to the fullest, no fears, no regrets...

What it Takes to be Happy...

With my kids graduation in just a few days, I have been busy preparing for their school requirements, attending rehearsals for the presentation, looking for costumes and being a stage mom to my 2 kids.  Unfortunately my son  is upset about the whole day rehearsal because as what he said, they're just singing the same songs over and over and walking around.

Anyway, I just wanted to share a thought for today about what it takes to be happy.  For me, to be happy is to appreciate all the things you have in your life, to be with the people you love the most... to be happy is to learn to let go of everything that has hurt  you in the past, to accept that life is not perfect and that it's OK to make mistakes sometimes.    To be happy is to live for today and not to worry about what tomorrow may bring.

To be happy is to celebrate life by living it to the fullest, without looking back... no regrets.
